На моя джип излиза кампания за препрограмиране / ъпдейт на модули.
Трябва ли да се прави, понеже ако изгори модул при ъпдейта не се поема от дилъра.
Като цяло добре ли е да се ъпдейтват тези модули.
Моя джип е от Канада.

По принцип, ще се омажат нещата с прехвърлянето на региона, който си направил (напълно или частично, не знам). Специално за тази акция на мен ми казаха, че не е ок да правя ъпдейти. Моята също е от Канада.

да, за тази акция(DME/Starter motor), а и нещо друго казаха че е за ъпдейт.
Можела да не запали колата в един момент ако не се ъпдейтне.
Аз нямам предвид кодировките по смяна на региона(знам че ще ги изтрият), а по-скоро да не изгори модул.
И като цяло тези ъпдейти носят ли полза или не.

А някой от вас правил ли е някаква сервизна кампания на автомобил внесен от Канада или САЩ в представителство тук? Наскоро си купих едно G05 40I от САЩ и гледам, че има много отворени кампании, които не са направени за този автомобил. Тук биха ли ги направили предвид, че не е EU spec версия?

This is a very important and often confusing issue when importing a BMW (G05 or otherwise) from North America (Canada/US) into Europe.

Here’s a clear breakdown:

Can you benefit from BMW service campaigns (recalls, software updates, etc.) at a European dealership with a Canadian-spec G05?
Yes, BUT with key limitations:

1. Safety Recalls:
Mandatory global safety recalls are honored regardless of country of origin.

If there’s an open safety recall on your Canadian G05, BMW Europe is legally obligated to perform the repair at no cost, even though it's a North American-spec vehicle.

2. Regional Service Campaigns (non-safety / voluntary):
These may be denied for non-EU-spec vehicles.

Examples: software campaigns, technical updates, or goodwill repairs that apply only to ECE-region vehicles.

European dealers can see your VIN, but if it’s not marked as "eligible" in the European region’s database, they’ll typically reject it.

3. Goodwill or Warranty Extensions:
These do not apply unless the car is:

Registered with BMW Europe via a special process, and

Still within factory warranty (usually voided outside the selling region).

What can you do?
Check Your VIN at the Local Dealer
Ask your BMW dealer to look up your VIN in ISTA/D or AIR (BMW's systems). They can tell:

Whether they can perform them in your region

В Дарукар ще ти ги направят безплатно, там приемат коли от Америка/Канада.

Относно този ъпдейт, след подробно четене в чужди форуми:
Ако в един момент колата не иска да запали поради повреден стартер, този ъпдейт предотвратява да не вземе нещо да пламне при продължително въртене на стартера(просто ако даде фира стартера не пробвайте много пъти един след друг да запалите колата), а не че ъпдейта ще предпази стартера да НЕ се развали.
Също така ако направите този ъпдейт се губи възможноста да се кодира ASS фунцията(не може да е се кодира на OFF по дифолт), още една причина да се откажа от тези ъпдейти.
