The car also comes fully equipped with an incredible 11-speaker Surround Sound stereo and six-disc CD changer. Only 50 of these custom-made automobiles, including the once-in-a-lifetime driving experience, will be available for purchase in this year’s Christmas Book for $139,000.
As if the car itself wasn’t enough, BMW is offering these fortunate fifty Neiman Marcus customers the pinnacle of the “ultimate driving experience.” Each gift opportunity features an exclusive European adventure in which the purchaser takes delivery of their new M6 Convertible directly from the factory and drives on to tour the Bavarian countryside. And for the serious BMW-enthusiast, each customer will have the opportunity to meet with the automaker’s famous car designers, and be given a private tour of the BMW factory in Munich. Also included in the package are two round-trip business class tickets on Lufthansa® to Munich, Germany, gourmet meals, and luxurious accommodations for four nights. Upon completion of the trip, their new vehicle will be shipped back to the States for immediate delivery. The trip is scheduled for Spring 2007.

50 custom Neiman Marcus BMW M6 convertibles sold out in exactly 92 seconds on Wednesday, the automaker reported today. The special edition model was listed in the North American Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. The company began taking orders at exactly 12.00 p.m., and phone lines were almost instantly jammed with buyers attempting to secure their order.

BMW and Neiman Marcus announced the special edition model earlier this month. The car features the same 500 horsepower V10 engine as the regular M6 convertible, which was first launched in June.

The Neiman Marcus edition features a custom Ruby Black exterior finish accented with an interior with Piano Black trim elements. It comes with an 11-speaker Surround Sound stereo and six-disc CD changer. The drop-top grand tourer costs $139,000.

If there’s a waiting line for the M6 Convertible, your best bet may be to turn to page 97 of the 2006 Neiman Marcus Christmas catalogue. NM has 50 Limited Edition copies of the M6 ragtop available. They’ll be priced at $139,000 vs. an estimated list price of $105,000 for the dealer-available M6 convertible. Just don’t wait to call –the M6 ragtop may sell out quickly. The last time BMW did a deal with NM, the batch of 50 (645Ci coupes in fall 2003) went in 6 minutes, 57 seconds.

Here’s what you get by going the Neiman Marcus route: custom Ruby Black exterior, interior trim elements done in Piano Black, power seats of Merino leather in Gold Brown hues, a 11-speaker surround sound system, and BMW’s European Vacation. More correctly, it’s a special upgraded version of BMW’s European delivery program, scheduled for a week to be determined in spring 2007. The 50 winners will get a pair of business class tickets into Munich on Lufthansa, four nights of upscale room and board, meetings with BMW designers, a private factory tour, a European countryside driving program, and free shipment of the car to the U.S. Neiman Marcus begins accepting orders at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 866-303-2696. The BMW CCA member rewards discount, alas, does not appear to apply to this model. Sorry.

BMW did a Christmas 2003 offering of the then-new BMW 645Ci. The 50 coupes with Stratus Gray exterior and Extended Crème Beige leather interior went for $75,170, a slight premium over the then standard price.
