Frühe 3,5er Motoren (Bj.78-82) 84 x 93,4, 218 PS
Den M30 Motor mit 3,5 Liter gab es generell in zwei völlig verschiedenen Motorblock-Ausführungen. Als er beispielsweise 1978 im Sechser BMW eingeführt wurde, besaß er die Zylindermaße des M Triebwerks, also 93,4 mm Bohrung und 84 mm Hub. Der Motor wurde bis 1982 in dieser Form gebaut. Er besaß 218 PS und 310 Nm. Ganz früher besaß er die im oberen Bild dargestellten einzelnen Ansaugrohre und L-Jetronic. Das Ansaugrohr ist mehrteilig und zerlegbar und läßt sich daher gut bearbeiten. Später wurde zu einer einteiligen Ansaugspinne aus Aluguß übergegangen. Diese Motoren hatten dann die Motronic der ersten Generation

Стана ми интересно, та се поразрових малко...
М30Б35,с управление L-Jetronic са се произвеждали в две версии в модела е23.
Първия ,с код 34 6Е А , се е произвеждал в периода 1979-80. Всъщност, работният обем на този
двигател е 3406 сс. 218 к.с при 5500 об.мин.
Втория , с код 34 6Е С , се е произвеждал в периода 1981-82. Работният обем е 3453 сс. и
отново 218 к.с. при 5500 об.мин.
